Perfect for fans of self-help and personal development, this set combines Rubin's trademark warmth, research and wit into one satisfying paperback bundle, ideal for readers starting or continuing their happiness journey. About the Books In Better Than Before , Gretchen Rubin explores why habit change is so difficult and why a single strategy never works for everyone. Drawing on scientific research, real-world case studies and her own experiments, she introduces her famous Four Tendencies framework — Upholder, Obliger, Questioner and Rebel — showing how understanding your own tendency is the key to forming habits that stick, whether around exercise, diet, productivity or relationships. It's a compassionate, clear-eyed guide to lasting behavioural change. The Four Tendencies expands on this framework in full, revealing how a simple question — 'How do I respond to expectations?' — unlocks deep self-knowledge. Rubin explains how each of the four personality types processes inner and outer expectations differently, and how recognising your own type (and those of the people around you) can transform relationships, workplaces, parenting and personal goals. Both books share Rubin's signature blend of accessible psychology, engaging anecdotes and actionable advice, making this set a comprehensive introduction to her thinking on happiness, habits and identity. Together they make an ideal starting point for anyone new to Rubin's work, or a welcome addition for existing fans wanting bot
