Set within the crumbling, monster-filled halls of Castle Grotteskew, each adventure follows Stitch Head and his ragtag friends as they face pirates, ghosts, spiders and stranger things still. Witty, gothic and beautifully illustrated throughout, this bumper box set is a brilliant introduction to chapter books for young horror-comedy fans and reluctant readers alike. About the Books Deep in the maze-like dungeons of Castle Grotteskew, the wonderfully insane Professor Erasmus builds monster after monster, each more fabulous than the last — but his very first creation, a small, almost-human patchwork boy known only as Stitch Head, has long been forgotten. Across six instalments, Stitch Head steps out of the shadows into adventures of an almost-lifetime. He dreams of circus stardom in the very first book, discovers a mysterious ice-blue eye that may belong to a legendary pirate in The Pirate's Eye, and is haunted by a vengeful spectre determined to claim his heart in The Ghost of Grotteskew. In The Spider's Lair he braves a gruesome monster's web on a daring rescue mission, while The Beast of Grubbers Nubbin sees him venture into the nearby village in search of food, only to run into a terrifying savage creature. The collection closes with The Monster Hunter, as an eccentric explorer arrives at the castle hoping to capture a monster for her own gain, forcing Stitch Head and his friends to protect their unlikely home. Full of gothic illustrations, laugh-out-loud humour and genuine heart, this is storytelling that turns "monstrous" into something to root for. Complete run of books
