In Boy Underwater, Cymbeline has never been swimming — not once — until an accident at the pool sends his mum into a sudden breakdown. With help from old and new friends, he sets out to discover why she has always kept him away from water, in a story that is by turns hilarious and heart-breaking. In You Won't Believe This, Cymbeline turns detective after someone starts doing terrible things to his favourite teacher, Mrs Martin. He also supports his friend Veronique, whose grandmother Nanai is gravely ill and hiding a secret from her escape from Vietnam as a young refugee. In This Wonderful Thing, a bedraggled teddy bear pulled from a river by a girl called Jessica sets off a chain of events that collides with Cymbeline's world after his home is burgled by thieves strangely interested only in his toys, including his own precious bear, Not Mr Fluffy. Together, the two children uncover a mystery spanning decades that will change both their families. Across all three books, Adam Baron writes with warmth, wit and real emotional depth, tackling grief, identity, belonging and resilience in a way that is accessible and never heavy-handed..
