It begins in a peaceful retirement village, where four unlikely friends meet weekly to pick over unsolved cases for fun - until a real murder lands on their doorstep in The Thursday Murder Club. In The Man Who Died Twice, Elizabeth is dragged back into her old espionage life when a desperate letter arrives, tangled up with stolen diamonds and a dangerous mobster, forcing the gang into their most reckless investigation yet. The Bullet That Missed sees a decade-old cold case resurface, linking the club to a missing local news legend and a murder with no body, while a new enemy delivers Elizabeth a chilling ultimatum. Finally, in The Last Devil to Die, the murder of an antiques-dealing friend and a vanished package plunge the four friends into a world of art forgery, online fraud and organised crime, in the most emotionally charged instalment yet. Osman balances clever, fair-play plotting with genuine warmth throughout, proving that growing older doesn't mean growing dull. Each novel stands alone but rewards reading in order, as friendships deepen between cases. Fans of Agatha Christie-style whodunits and dry British humour will find this collection irresistible..
